Allen is from Buffalo, New York, which is famous for its snowfall, averaging some 3 meters every winter! He comes from a family of professional educators, and has taught at many schools in the United States and in China. At ISHCMC – American Academy since it opened in 2012, he has built up a strong Visual Arts curriculum, which added ceramics in 2017. In addition, he is Coach of the Boys High School Basketball and Volleyball teams, which captured its first SISAC Championship in 2017, after finishing runner-up the previous 2 years. He is also proud of his Middle School Sun Bears teams, who have won 2 championships while setting a school record 27 game win streak. Besides art and sports, he enjoys reading, astronomy, and spending time with his family.
