Nathan Swenson

Head of School

Nathan Swenson

Nathan Swenson has been an educational leader for over 20 years and has had experiences in 4 different countries before moving to Vietnam. He has been a principal in the USA, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Brazil and he is now in his second year here at ISHCMC - American Academy.

Nathan is passionate about helping children learn and grow as they prepare for the rest of their lives. At ISHCMC-AA we have a positive, caring, and engaged environment and Nathan embraces these values in all that he does. He spends time getting to know each student and helps meet their individual needs. He has high expectations for the school and students and encourages everyone to reach their fullest potential. Nathan does have one daughter who is in her second year of college at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, but he cares for each child in school as if they were his own.

Nathan enjoys meeting with families and encourages parents to be involved in their child’s development. He is available to meet with families as often as needed.

Jennifer Pratt

Principal

Jennifer Pratt

Jennifer is from a small town in Ontario, Canada. She has been teaching in international schools for 20 years in the UK, Kenya, Finland, China and Vietnam. She has been at ISHCMC-AA for 6 years. In her role as Principal at ISHCMC-AA, she supports students, teachers and parents to create a strong learning community where children are guided to build their skills and inspired to create pathways to success in life. She loves to play and watch sports, to play music and sing and to travel to new places.

Rob Wilson

Director of Student Services and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Rob Wilson

Rob Wilson has been living and working in Ho Chi Minh City for the past 14 years. He has a background in Drama and Theatre Education. This is his 7th year at ISHCMC- American Academy where he serves as the Director of Student Services. He is an advocate for wellbeing and mental health, and also serves as the 9th Grade Team Leader, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Robert Williams

Academic Dean

Robert Williams

Robert is originally from California, and has taught in the United States, Korea, Costa Rica, China, and Vietnam. This is Robert’s 7th year teaching at ISHCMC- American Academy, and serves as the Academic Dean in which he oversees curriculum development. He keeps up to date with the latest ideas in education by actively reading and engaging in educational research. In his spare time, he enjoys reading books on psychology, running, and writing.

Michael Tower

Clinical Specialist & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Michael Tower

Michael Tower has worked in social work and education for 15 years in the US, Nepal, and Vietnam. Michael is originally from Massachusetts, USA and has worked at ISHCMC-AA for 6 years. Michael specializes in student mental health and safeguarding. He enjoys working with students and parents to support growth through any challenge. Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing with his two kids, cooking, and travelling.
