Nathan Swenson has been an educational leader for over 20 years and has had experiences in 4 different countries before moving to Vietnam. Nathan attended Carleton College, Gustavus Adolphus College, and Saint Mary's University to earn a BS in Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and a certificate in Educational Leadership. He has been a principal in the USA, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Brazil and he is extremely excited to be a part of ISHCMC-AA for the 2020-2021 school year.
Nathan is passionate about helping children learn and grow as they prepare for the rest of their lives. At ISHCMC-AA we have a positive, caring, and engaging environment and Nathan embraces this moto in all that he does. He spends time getting to know each student and helps meet their individual needs. He has high expectations for the school and students and encourages everyone to reach their fullest potential. Nathan does have one daughter who is going to college this year, but he cares for each child in school as if they were his own.
Nathan enjoys meeting with families and encourages parents to be involved in their child's development. He is available to meet with families as often as needed.
Michael has worked in Nepal and the United States. Originally from Massachusetts, he has lived in Vietnam for five years. Michael is an experienced counselor and has worked in foster care and adoption in Connecticut, early childhood intervention in Massachusetts, and child protection in Nepal. At ISHCMC-AA, Michael has supported the development of character education, advisory, and the focus on student well-being in school. When not as school, Michael enjoys cooking, playing with his young son, and playing tennis.
Jennifer Pratt has been teaching for 19 years in international schools including 5 years ISHCMC-AA. This year she begins a new role at ISHCMC-AA as Principal. Jennifer is originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada and before coming to Vietnam, she taught at schools in England, Kenya, Finland, and China. Her hobbies include cooking, singing and playing gaelic football.
Rob Wilson is beginning his fifth year at ISHCMC-American Academy. He has spent the last 12 years in teaching and administrative roles in Vietnam. He is the Director of Student Services and a full-time student advocate. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and traveling any and everywhere.
Diane Sisson is the Middle School Counselor and Designated Safeguarding Lead at ISHCMC - AA, the 2019/20 school year is her third at the school. Originally from Connecticut, Diane lived and worked in schools and mental health clinics in the United States until she moved to Vietnam in 2017. Diane holds a BA in American Language and Literature from New Hampshire College where she also worked as a Research Assistant in the Humanities Department, as well as a Masters of Social Work from the University of Connecticut. Diane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the United States. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, reading, spending time outdoors, cooking and listening to music.
